Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Design
Galaxy Note devices were the first ones to start the phablet trend, which was soon followed by many other companies as well. Now Galaxy Note 8 is the first device to make a phablet comfortable, which makes it the best phablet till date. That’s right – by shedding up to 0.4-inches from the phone’s height and 0.04 inches from depth, the company has been able to make a device that’s easily manageable in the hand. However no Remote control (IR Blaster) feature in galaxy note 8.
While these reductions may seem significantly small, their collective result is a reduction of few ounces from the overall weight of device, which makes Galaxy Note 8 easy to be held in the hand. While it doesn’t make Note 8 the thinnest or lightest device ever made by Samsung, it certainly makes it lighter than it would have been if these cuts from the height and weight would not have been made.
The rectangular form factor of phone is another factor in the design of device, which helps in providing a better grip over the phone when held in hand. And it’s also waterproof. Overall, Galaxy Note 8 is a phablet with stunning, reliable and comfortable design.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Display
Samsung’s AMOLED displays are already well-known, and therefore no surprise that the display in Galaxy Note 8 is one of the best smartphone displays in the world.
While it’s same as that of Galaxy S8 Plus, this time it’s a little larger at 6.3 inches. With resolution of 1,440 x 2,960 pixels, it comes down to 522 ppi, which is great for most day-to-day tasks and entertainment.
Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Camera
The camera of Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is its biggest feature which separates it from the crowd. While dual-cameras are not that much of new things anymore, Samsung’s implementation is better than that of anyone else till now.
Their 12mp dual-lens camera included in Note 8 comes with optical image stabilization and the best Portrait Mode feature till date, which makes it better than Apple’s iPhone 7 Plus and most other dual-camera implementations as well.
As you may expect, one of those two lenses on its back is a telephoto lens while another one is a wide angle lens. The Portrait mode feature included in Galaxy Note 8 allows you to capture photos with blurred background and also to control how blurred you want the background to be.
You can also capture two photos at the same time with its dual-lens camera – one with blurred background and other with background in focus but from a wide-angle view. And you can also remove the blurred background from an image after it has been captured.
Finally, there’s also an 8mp secondary shooter in the device, which is also quite good for all the things that you may want to do with it.
Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Processing Power
The processor included in Galaxy Note 8 is essentially the same as that in Galaxy S8. However, the difference in RAM capacity (6GB vs. 4GB) is likely to make Galaxy Note 8 much smoother and powerful than S8.
Note 8 Improved S Pen Stylus
S Pen has become sort of an identity for Galaxy Note series. With each new launch it has got smarter, and this one is no different. To start off in the right direction it’s waterproof, so you can comfortably take notes even if standing in rain or sitting in pool. Next, it allows you to take notes on the Always-On Display (AOD) based lockscreen itself. And you can also send Live Messages with it now, which are animated, hand drawn messages that can be sent as GIF animations through any popular messaging app on your Note 8.
Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Battery
Finally, the battery. Since Note 7 story was almost entirely made of battery, this time Samsung has decided to play it safe. Galaxy Note 8 comes with a smaller 3,300 mAh Li-Polymer battery, which is 200 mAh less than S8 Plus and Note 7 both.
Samsung might also have kept a close eye on the battery production process this time, so we can safely assume that Galaxy Note 8 is the safest Note device till date by Samsung.
Note 8 Price, Colors and Availability
Finally, Galaxy Note 8 will cost $960 and will come in 4 different colors: Maple Gold, Deepsea Blue, Orchid Gray and Midnight Black (all colors not available worldwide). And it’ll be available from September 15.
