Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is about to be launched in a matter of few days, and the market is already waiting for it with high hopes. There’re many notable features in the device that will make it stand out from the crowd in all major departments. Whether it’s 6.3-inch Infinity display, 6GB RAM coupled with latest high-end Snapdragon processor or dual-camera setup – all these features are powerful enough to blow away the current competition.
However, there’s one feature whose presence in Galaxy Note 8 is still unclear. It’s the feature of Smart Remote.
Now, Smart Remote isn’t a new thing technically. It has been present in Galaxy Note devices before. Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge all had Smart Remote. The app was very helpful as it helped turn Galaxy Note devices into a single remote that could control various other devices in the home.
But after that Samsung excluded IR blaster from Galaxy Note devices, and the utility of that app was gone. With Galaxy Note 8 launch around the corner Samsung fans are once again expecting their favorite company to bring the old good IR blaster (and the Smart Remote) back to the Note devices. And while chances of that happening are very thin, it doesn’t hurt to take a look on the possibilities of such a smart remote if it somehow indeed comes to life.
So let’s take a look on what can be the possible features of Samsung Smart Remote, if it comes as a part of Galaxy Note 8.
Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Smart Remote Features
First things first – these assumptions are based on the features of Samsung AllShare Control app, the official smart remote app that was offered by the company in the days of Galaxy Note 3 and 4. So we assume that if smart remote comes back, at the very least these features will be a part of it. Let’s see what they’re:
One remote for all devices: As long as you’ve a wireless router connected to your TV, AC and laptop the Smart Remote app may allow you to control all those things with your Galaxy Note 8.
All your TV apps under control: If you’ve a Smart TV, the app may also allow you to control the apps installed in your TV using Smart Remote.
Control your PC: With Smart Remote you may also be able to control various features of your Windows PC from Galaxy Note 8 itself. For example, you may remotely shut down your computer, use PowerPoint, Windows Media Player and many other programs as well without having to look at your PC.
Control your AC: With Smart Remote your Galaxy Note 8 may show you the status of your AC and allow you to control its temperature as well.
Sounds great, doesn’t it? We’ll come to know whether it’s included in Galaxy Note 8 or not on August 23 and update this page so you too can come to know about it.
